Area Naturalist Jim Smith conducts biweekly interpretive walks from 7:30AM-9:30 AM on Saturdays during the spring and fall, focusing on migrating bird populations and other unique features. Other programs, sponsored by the Shenandoah University Environmental Studies Program, The Opequon Watershed, Inc., and the Northern Shenandoah Audubon Society, are held throughout the year.
The 5th annual Green Circle 5-K and 1-Mile Kid’s Fun Run will take place on October 3, 2009. The races, which are sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Runners and the Shenandoah University Physical Therapy Department, begin and end at the Abrams Crossing Shopping Center and are routed through the Preserve. All proceed go to support the Winchester Green Circle.
