Winchester Green Circle

This natural area protects grassy marshes and forested swamps.  Watch for muskrats, painted turtles, kingfishers, red-winged blackbirds, frogs, butterflies and other wetland residents.  Naturalists have found over 150 kinds of birds and more than a dozen rare plant species here.  Interpretive signs are being placed in the entrance kiosks and along the Green Circle path this summer.  The first mile of the Green Circle was dedicated here in 2003.
