Activities
Numerous organized activities sponsored by The Opequon Watershed, Inc., the Shenandoah University Environmental Studies Program, and the Winchester Parks & Recreation Department take place at Shawnee Springs Preserve, which is adjacent to the TRLP. They include nature walks and guided tours of the Sheridan Field Hospital remnants and living history area, along with other historic features of the preserve. There are also volunteer opportunities, including trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, and creek clean-ups throughout the year. Other activities along this section include the Kiwanis Pancake Day held twice a year at the Wigfield Gym.
