Trail Description

For the time being, Hollingsworth Drive to Parkway or continuing on Pall Mall to Kent Street are suitable walking route to Old Town.  However, there are no bike routes or “share the road” designations in the city.  A bicycle suitability analysis could be performed along these routes to identify traffic calming measures needed to accomodate A-, B- and C-level cyclists.  This type of analysis should be used to designate an east-west route through Old Town connecting the Town Run Linear Park with the Amherst Street Corridor.

The project received partial funding by the Virginia Department of Transportation in 2007.

NOTE: Until this section of off-street trail is completed, trail users should proceed west on East Pall Mall Street to South Kent Street and then north (right) onto South Kent Street.  The Patsy Cline house is at 608 South Kent Street. Continue north on South Kent Street to Clifford Street.
